Create a text file called autorun.inf in the root directory of the drive that something like this:

[autorun]

action = open PortableFirefox.exe Home Portable Firefox

Label = icon = PortableFirefox.exe Portable Internet

The open = line and action are used only by the AutoPlay feature of Windows XP SP2.

With Windows XP, you should support a kind of U3-Stick "mutually not completely remove autoplay for CD players. (A U3 drive appears as two disks, one is a fake CD.) The more you with a normal do USB flash drive in XP is an option to select a program from the pop-ramp that uses a file "autorun.inf". This applies to all USB CD drives, including USB hard drives.

Here is an example of the file "autorun.inf" is a non-U3:

[autorun]
Action = Run Presentation
icon = MyIcon.ico
open = Promo.exe
shell = Promo.exe
Label = Display

The action and open lines of Shell's go together. The action is what the dialog box appears. The open-shell line is what really happens when the input action and click "OK" button. The icon and label lines are optional. The label displays beside the drive letter in My Computer, the icon is used as a drive icon in My Computer.

You still have a U3 drive, so I do not know how things autorun settings in them. A CD can be a simpler alternativetion.

You can set the USB to do this, every team is different ... Simply take the 3 seconds, you have to click My Computer, then Flash, PowerPoint. But if you are in your flash drive, you'll see something that says how to open the USB port and enter a list of selections. Make sure you tick the box below, before clicking.
